What is the definition of "Natural Meat"?

There is much confusion around the definitions of natural meat and organic. Many consider the term natural to have been so diluted as to render it meaningless.

A fair number of grass fed beef producers are using the Natural claim, simply because they don't want to pay for the expense of organic certification, (and other reasons). Most of these types of producers operate according to and often to a higher standard than the organic certifictation protocols, but simply cannot use the term.

As you can see below, the term natural is quite vague and ambiguous:

USDA Definition of NATURAL:

A product containing no artificial ingredient or added color and is only minimally processed (a process which does not fundamentally alter the raw product) may be labeled natural. The label must explain the use of the term natural (such as - no added colorings or artificial ingredients; minimally processed.)
